Daisy Hill Koala Sanctuary

Very cool place. The kids enjoyed the koalas and the gorgeous bushland. Uncle Bob lit a fire for the kids when along came a group of Taiwanese girls who said loudly walking by in Chinese (not knowing Tilly and I could understand them) "Wonder if we can borrow that fire??" They had rather ambitiously thought they could start a fire on the rusty old BBQ's. So Uncle Bob got the fire roaring for them. One of the girls said before they were rescued, "look - grandmother is bringing paper" (Grandmother being the respectful term used for obviously the grandmother of the group). So Nan true to style walked up and said, "oh yes, here comes old grandma with the paper!" It was nice to hear the lingo and to have helped them out.

Gorgeous little Pretty Face Rock Wallaby watching us play and eat.

What to do with all this abundance?!

We're back in Australia, and we're loving it.... It's just so lovely to be back in green pastures. Even if it is slightly fried frost bitten cold wintery pastures. I feel so blessed, this life. Later I'll post some pictures of our little slice of Paradise. Only, we're sure missing our Daddy.....

At night in bed, when the girls and I pray, I thank God for the many blessings of this life. And I name those blessings.  And I ask, show us how to give back, open our eyes to those who need help. Show us different ways we can give back. And I slipped out and turned on my pod this evening, flipping through blogs. And I saw this link. And I think it's just so wonderful, and so brilliantly simple and so worthy. And so close to home. Please have a look at her blog!

Oh the humidity!

I think these pictures speak for themselves..... Last week we got sick and bothered. In an effort to get better before our flight and not spread illness I kept the girls home-ish. As the girls rise around 6 I thought it would be a great idea to take them out to the local park at that time and burn up some energy before the sun came in and made it unbearable to even be outside, at say..... 9.....

Mum.... I'm dying here... This shot was taken at about 6:45.

The only way I can get banana into Evie is if she thinks she is starving. Evie wakes hungry and whinges until she is fed. Hun-ry Mama!! I Hun-ry!!!

7am and the sun is out in full force.

It's just too hot...... I can't even describe how close the air is. The humidity is just a killer.

Escape to the shadey side to watch the fan dancers / tai qi-er's.

Nope... It's still just too hot. Note the ladies in their long sleeves and long pants exercising. Perhaps we just don't do well in the heat?!

This is our most favourite park! We love scooting around here on our bikes. The breeze from riding through the trees cools you down and there is heaps to see along the way. Like squirrels fighting with birds (really - it happens though I don't know why), ladies with swords, ladies with fans, men playing chess, groups doing tai-qi, old men walking backwards (something about keeping your balance..), old style dance groups, dogs being walked. Fun! Love this park.

Hot, hot, hot....

I have to say this has been a miserable summer weather wise.... If it isn't raining, it's flooding, or roastingly hot and add to that at any point - extreme humidity. The kind that makes you feel like you're walking through water..... Why just today I stood outside to hang up the washing and I was there but two minutes when the sweat was actually dripping off me. I was practically standing still.... two minutes, if that! But, let's have some shots of some summer fun!

And now for some gratitude. Thankful for this great watering hole that has served us well these past few summers. Tilly and her pals can navigate the big slides all by themselves now! Thankful for friends who play in the water and down the slides with my kids because I can't bear to get my kit off and get in. Though I usually get wet anyway, just on the sidelines. This pool is only shin deep right the way through and technically I'm pretty much 'in' the water. Thankful for gorgeous girls, happy smiles, sunny days and cool pools!
