Tilly is 5!

Her day was simple. Just as she likes it. A bit of a fuss made, nothing too over the top. Best friends with her celebrating. And that was it.

Pizza and cupcakes at Kelly's.

Kelly and her boy Nikki are ever the gracious hosts! Thanks Kelly for sharing the day with us!

Best buds, hard at work. Sarah skipped school to spend the day together.

Charlotte got in on the action.

Evie was in Toy Heaven.......

We managed to drag them away from said Toy Heaven long enough to ice a cupcake or two.

Then the afternoon with Ellie Belle. Daddy's extra special gift to Tilly was a box of Magformers. Brilliant things. Magnetic and heaps of fun.

These two were hard at it for ages and worked like a team the whole way.

Ellie is a bit of a natural and rigged up this fish in no time. Before this Tilly couldn't get past the idea that the Magformers could be made into a great long train to hold all her small figurines. Now, she's a master at the different 3D shapes you can create.

Given half the chance these two are a right pair of monkeys!

And because Tilly couldn't get over the fact that there wasn't an actual cake presentation and 'party' so to speak, we met on Saturday and here is the awesome cake Paula Jay whipped up for her. Fairy at her request.

Isn't it lovely? She had a tummy ache here and was not herself really. But then she isn't one much for the spotlight. Evie on the other hand. I shall have to pull my socks up for her birthday as it would seem she loves a good party and a fuss being made of her. She saw this cake and her eyes lit up and she yelled out 'WOW - preeeety'

ho hum......

This cheeky little monkey climbed out of her cot after lunch at her usual nap time, dear me not even two and already dealing with that!! For reasons I couldn't be bothered to explain her cot and Tilly's bed are joined together at the moment and the end of Tilly's bed provides a great ledge for her to stand on and hook her legs over. She's more athletic than Tilly..... I took Tilly to her friends place to play for an hour at 5 and on the bike ride home she crashed...Still too young to skip a nap yet.

~

This morning Tilly asked after breakfast if she could watch Dinosaur Train on the TV. They wake at 6, so from 6- 9 it could possibly be a long time to fill when all you have to do to get ready is eat your breakfast and get dressed for school. So the temptation is there to turn on the tube and let it watch the kids. However, I asked Tilly a question - which situation would she prefer? I held out my hands into two fists and I said, my two hands like this is like you and Evie watching TV, seperate and not interacting together. Just two blobs looking at the box. Then I put my hands together and intertwined my fingers and said when you and Evie play together, you're like this - connected, together, interacting. Then I asked, which one would you prefer? And she put her hands together and intertwined her hands and said, like this mum. So I said, well go get your sister and play with her! Which she found very exciting.....

Evie here is asking 'Titty' what the animal in the book is. Tilly building a tower.

Not all play has be together. But they love to sit close to each other and do their own thing. Tilly is a great teacher and this morning taught her to say, 1 2 3. Before that she could only ever say 2.

Swing Baby!

Tilly always hovers close to Evie when she's doing something 'precarious'

I love her shadow in this shot! She has strong little arms.

Not to be outdone! Evie loves to climb these bars right to the top which in my opinion is very much precarious activity. It's rather a bother when she goes over there as it means I have to get my bottom up off the park bench and spot her lest she fall on her head.....
